Saskatoon Rentals January 2024

In 2023, Saskatoon’s population reached over 300,000 with approximately 15,000 new residents from July 2022 to June 2023. In the latest report from Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation rental vacancy rates for Regina are 1.4% and Saskatoon 2%. The Saskatchewan Landlord Association indicate the rental vacancy rate in Saskatchewan is getting ‘dangerously low’.

As highlighted in my previous blog the province is hoping that the Secondary Suite Incentive can help address the rental crisis.

Also given the low housing inventory for purchasing a home it is really important to be pre-approved so you can act quickly. Spring market demand is always busy and now combined with rental pressures you need to be ready.
